JACKIE SUMAN 03/18/1948 - 06/28/2025 Jackie "Jack" Dean Suman, age 77 of Defiance, passed away on Saturday June 28, 2025 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. He was born on March 18, 1948 to Floyd and Ellen (Bebout) Suman in Decatur, Indiana. On July 22,1966 he married Anita Sue Smith and she survives. Jack worked as an Electrician for GM Powertrain for 33 years retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Defiance Church of the Nazarene and Defiance Eagles #372. Jack will be sadly missed by his family and many good friends. Jack is survived by his loving wife Anita Suman of Defiance, and his children, Rusty "Ruck" (Theresa) Suman and Jennifer "Darla" (Mike) Jacob, all of Centerville, TN, and daughter-in-law, Michelle Suman of Defiance. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Cody, Abigail, and Autumn Suman, Jacob (Jessica) Suman and Jessica (Klayton) Dorsey, Brianna (Cody) Jones, Nathaniel (Jennifer) Jacob and Luke (Parker) Jacob, ten great-grandchildren, his brothers Dick (Donna) Suman of Ashland KY and Tom (Tina) King of Muncie, IN, and his sister Terry (Boody) Lones of Jackson Center, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Dean (Dino) Suman, brother Gary Suman, and sister Cheryl Campbell. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Defiance Church of the Nazarene. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the church with Pastor Dick Suman officiating. A luncheon will be held after the service at Defiance Eagles. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
