ADRIENNE "ANN" JO MATHEWS

November 8, 1934 - February 4, 2025

Ann passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, at 90 years old surrounded by her loving son, Tom Mathews, and her grandchildren, Alyssa Marie Mathews and Jared Thomas Mathews.

She was preceded by her father and mother, Tom and Hilda Alger, her husband, Gene Mathews, her brother, David Alger, and her daughter-in-law, Yolanda Mathews.

Ann was employed for many years as the accounts manager/bookkeeper for C&H Testing but her true passion was being an elected Director for the Kern County Water Agency for close to 30 years.

Ann was a kind and devoted Christian who had a heart of gold. She always put her family first. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play competitive volleyball and basketball all the way through their college years. She also enjoyed watching all kinds of sports including football, basketball, and baseball. She loved playing Chinese Checkers, Rummikub, and Dominoes with her son and grandchildren, but only if she could win. Ann loved spending time at Cayucos Beach with her family and her dog and companion, Mia. Ann also loved having many dinners with her son, and her friend, Charlie Hammons.

Ann is survived by her son Tom Mathews, grandchildren, Alyssa and Jared Mathews, brothers, Jerry, Ray, and Tom Alger, and sister, Charlene, and many other special family members.

Mother, you will be missed here on Earth. However, we know you are being cherished in Heaven. We love you forever!

Service will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 11:00am at New Life Church, 4201 Stine Rd.
