Jan. 14, 2025

Craig Steven Cowan "Steve", 64, of Hanford, CA passed away on January 14, 2025.

He was born on June 19, 1960 in Porterville, CA and was a member of the graduating class of 1978 from Monache High School.

Growing up, Steve played Little League Baseball and was a member of the football and wrestling teams in his first couple of years at Monache. He loved the Drag Races and Nascar, attending events at Fomoso Dragstrip, the Pomona Drags to watch John Force and even made it to the last NASCAR race at the Fontana Auto Club Speedway supporting his favorite driver, Kevin Harvick. He enjoyed traveling to see friends & family, classic cars, attending car shows and finding hidden gems at yard sales. He was also a big fan of UFC and Sean "Suga" O'Malley, never missing an opportunity to watch him fight.

He worked at the Porterville State Hospital as a Psychiatric Technician Assistant until 2017 before going on disability retirement.

Steve was ecstatic to become a father in 2006 & was very proud of his son Ayden.

He is survived by parents Haskell & Elizabeth Cowan, sisters Karen Stevens (Michael) and Valerie Townsend (Donnie), son Ayden Cowan & granddaughter Everly Cowan. He is also survived by niece Tabitha Stevens & great niece Berlin Engen.

Steve Cowan. An amazing friend, son, brother, and father. Wonderful personality he had, a genuine great hearted and funny guy. Loved car shows, car clubs such as the "rolling relics" and watching ufc. I love you dad, always will.
