Russell Keith "Russ" Lindsey, 64, of New Holland, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025 after a lengthy battle with brain cancer.
He was born on September 24, 1960 in Fayette County to the late Charles C. and Glenna J. (Tener) Lindsey. He was a 1978 graduate of Washington High School. After high school, Russ attended Wilmington College and obtained a degree in biological science; he then obtained his master's degree in School Administration from the University of Dayton. Russ began his teaching career at Washington High School and completed his career at Greenfield McClain Middle School where he taught science. He was a faithful member at Grace Community Church where he served as a Certified Biblical Counselor through (ACBC) and served on the Guardians Security Team. Russ attended the School of Ministry at Open Door (SOMA); and worked as an athletic trainer for Highland District Hospital. In his free time, he enjoyed farming, raising cattle, collecting guns and guitars, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Debra Lee Lindsey, whom he married on July 23, 1994; his children, Jay (Tiffany) Lindsey, and Candis (JG) Conley; grandchildren, Sawyer Tate Conley, Reagan Darlene Lindsey, and Peyton Brooks Lindsey; and a special canine companion, Queen.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grace Community Church with Pastor Jay Lucas and Pastor Paul Crichton officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the church on Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
