Florence Collins (Petitti)
Beloved wife, mother and nana
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Florence Petitti Collins on May 27, 2025. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. Florence left this Earth to be reunited with her beloved husband, Conrad.
Florence was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, on November 7, 1936, daughter of the late Cipriano (James) and Mary Petitti. She was raised in Oakville. In 1956, she married the love of her life, Conrad Collins, and moved to Morris, Connecticut, where they raised their family. They retired to Vermont, where, together, they built their home on Lake Willoughby. The joys of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her five children, Cindy Hazen, Kathryn Carr, Connie Hall (Barry), Suzanne Coons (John), and Conrad Collins (Shannon); twelve grandchildren: Garrett, Brooke, Ryan, Tyler, Ashley, Hilary, Chad, Jeffrey, Justin, CJ, Ethan and Brady, and eleven special great-grandchildren. In addition, Florence is also survived by one sister, Marge, and several nieces and nephews, whom she adored. She was predeceased by her brothers, James, Alfred, and Robert, and one sister, Madeline.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on June 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 49 South Street, Litchfield. Burial will follow in East Morris Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital ( stjude.org ).
