Floyd Jesperson Obituary

Floyd Christen Jespersen
TORRINGTON – Floyd Christen "Skip" Jespersen, 89, passed into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Skip was born in Colebrook on November 14, 1935, to Walter and Emmerette (Hart) Jespersen. He was married on May 24, 1957, to Shirley (Leifert), residing in Colebrook most of their life.
He worked his early years for Lossin Brothers, a contractor in Colebrook and spent several years at Son-Chief Electrics in Winsted. Skip spent most of his working years as The Town of Colebrook's Road Maintenance Foreman. One of his real joys in life were his dogs and he had many through the years. There was always one at the foot of the bed. Most were rescues. Skip also enjoyed two cross-country auto trips. A favorite vacation place in earlier years was Boothbay Harbor, Maine.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Walter; and sisters, Mary and Elizabeth.
Friends may call on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted, from 1 – 3 PM. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to The Colebrook Fire Department, P.O. Box 5, Colebrook CT, 06021. Visit an online guestbook at montano-shea.com .
