Linda Sutkitis Obituary

Linda Sutkitis
"Beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend"
Mrs. Linda (Esposito) Sutkitis, age 75, of Waterbury, devoted wife of Paul Sutkitis (52 years) was peacefully called to her final resting place on Monday, June 30, 2025 at MidState Medical Center.
Born on February 13, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Lucia "Lucy" Esposito.
Linda was a graduate of Wilby High School and received a degree in radiology from St. Mary's Hospital where she worked for over 20 years as an Emergency Room X-Ray Technologist. After raising her children, Linda worked for Dr. Brian Peck as an X-Ray Technologist until retirement. She greatly loved her jobs and had a wonderful rapport with her patients and peers.
In addition to her husband, Linda leaves behind a son, Jonathan Sutkitis, his fiancée Bonnie Knapik, of Middletown, a daughter, Jennifer Norris, her husband Matthew, of Waterbury, and her much adored cat, Trixie. She also leaves behind her sisters, Gloria Coviello and Eleanor Salamone, along with several nieces and nephews, especially her niece, Dana Cipriano and her husband Vincent, who were always there for her. Linda was predeceased by her sister, Rosemarie, aka Titi, Petruzzi, and brothers-in-law Mark Petruzzi, Vincent Coviello, Dante Salamone and nephew, Scott Petruzzi.
Linda always loved being with Paul, whether working in their yard or spending quiet moments at home and proudly attending their children's sporting events and other activities.
Linda also enjoyed going to the beach, watching movies, cooking, crafting stained glass, reading novels, and spending special time with her family and friends, including Nancy Shaw, her best friend of 50+ years, and especially Donna Karas, who was like a sister to her.
The family would like to thank Dr. Thompson, Dr. Pratt, all the nurses, the Hospice Department and staff at MidState Medical Center for their care and support, and to the nurses who took care of her while she was at Gaylord Hospital.
Arrangements: A private Celebration of Life will be held to honor Linda to be announced at a later date. Brookside Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 200 Benson Road, Middlebury has been entrusted with Linda's services.

Linda and I were close friends in the early years at Wilby High. We lost touch over the years. I remember how much fun she was with a great sense of humor. We were buddies with Joey Corcoran who passed right after graduation in 68. Sorry we did not stay in touch. Our lives took very different paths but she will always be remembered fondly. Rest in peace Linda. You were special.

I remember Linda so well working w/her at the Arthritis Center. She could cheer anyone up with her sense of humor. She could always make us laugh. She'd always come to work with a bag that had a change of clothes "just in case".
I 'm so sorry for her family her passing will leave a void for certain. Hope you can find strength by remembering the good times you have had with her in your life! May God comfort you Paul- !
