Walter Rival Obituary

Walter Edmund Rival Sr.
The family of Walter E. Rival Sr. announces his peaceful passing on July 14th, 2025, at the age of 80.
Born on November 13th, 1944, in New Britain, Connecticut to Edmund J. Rival and Florence Callahan, Walter lived a life rooted in Catholic faith, and love for those around him.
Walter was united in holy matrimony to Rosemarie Zoccoli on August 6th, 1966, at St. Ann's Church, New Britain Connecticut, and together they shared 58 blessed years. He is survived by his loving brother, Charlie Rival. He raised his family in Wolcott, Connecticut and was the beloved parent of Walter E. Rival Jr., Christina M. Rival (Robbins), Debra A. Rival (Perazzella) and the cherished Grandparent of Rachel A. Rival (Mann), James Perazzella Jr., Ryan Perazzella and Livia Robbins.
He is preceded in death by Edmund, Florence, and brother, Peter Rival.
We will remember the love and passion Walter had in serving in the US Marine Corp, in pursuing the perfect game of golf and in his career as a Plumber. He enjoyed many happy years of retirement with Rosemarie in Florida.
The visitation will be held at Beyers Funeral Home in Lady Lake/The Villages from 9-11 AM on Friday, July 25th. Rite of Committal and military Honor Guard ceremony will follow at Florida National Cemetery - Bushnell.
