Priscilla Agee Obituary

Priscilla Mae Agee

March 11, 1953 - January 31, 2026

Priscilla Mae Agee, 72, of Roanoke passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2026, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born in Roanoke on March 11, 1953, Priscilla was the youngest of three daughters of the late Elwood (Bob) Lee Steber, and Oneda Gertrude Beckner Steber. In addition to her parents, Priscilla was preceded in death by her sister, Gertrude Juanita Steber (1940-1941), her maternal grandparents, John Wheeler Beckner and Bessie V. Aliff, and her paternal grandparents, Frank Lee Steber and Juanita Jessie Tripp.

Left to cherish her life and memory are her devoted sons, Troy Alan Chocklett and Gregory Adam Chocklett, her grandson, Adam Chocklett, her sister, Wanda S. Jackson, her nieces, whom she loved as her own daughters, Angela G. Morris and Christine A. Bennett (Robin), and her great-nieces, Kassondra Ramirez and Alixandra Dean (Nenad Savanovic). Also left to cherish her memory are her "sister" Sue Richards, close friend, Christine Isenhour, her very good friends, Bobby and Bonnie Foley, her ex-husband, Michael Agee, her stepson, Ronnie Agee (Tonya), and many other cherished family members and friends.

Priscilla was a graduate of Cave Spring High School in Roanoke County. She retired from Allstate Insurance Company after many decades of service. After she retired, she enjoyed meeting coworkers and friends on Friday mornings for breakfast and continued fellowship. Priscilla was a loyal and dedicated friend and family member until her untimely death. She spent many days with loved ones supporting them in their times of need. She was famous for her 'Cilla's Éclair Cake and 'Cilla's Sweet Tea.

Priscilla's upbeat and positive nature throughout her life was truly inspiring. She rarely spoke to others about her health issues or allowed others to support her. She would always say that she was fine and that there were many others much worse off than she. She always had a smile and a laugh to share among us.

A few of her favorite things in life included her family and friends, but also music, dancing, movies, racing, and football (Go Vols!). She often shared her stories about getting in trouble with her cousins and her sister, Wanda, when they were young children. Oh, and she loved Sam Elliott!

Priscilla knew she was leaving us, and she told us she was ready. She knew her Holy Father would be waiting for her, and she would see her mother and father again. We know she is happy to be reunited with her family and friends that have passed before us. We look forward to seeing her in the hereafter. Until then, we will miss her every day and will remember her as the wonderful Angel on Earth she was for all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Carilion RMH Emergency Department and all the doctors and nurses of the 7th Floor ICU. We are so thankful for the time you gave us to be with our dear mother, sister, auntie, great-auntie, and friend to support her as she passed peacefully.

Priscilla was a longtime active member of Lamplight Baptist Church in Roanoke. Her Home church is Red Hill Baptist Church in Roanoke. In memory of her, donations may be made to Lamplight Baptist Church, 4307 Rock Garden Lane, Roanoke, VA 24018. Priscilla would not have been able to survive as long as she did without the donated blood she received while in the hospital. Donations of blood may also be made in her memory at Roanoke Red Cross Blood and Platelet Donation Center, 352 Church Ave., SW, or via The Blood Connection, 4873 Valley View Blvd., NW.

A Celebration of Priscilla's Life will be held at Lamplight Baptist Church on March 14, 2026, at 2 p.m., with a meal immediately following in the Fellowship Hall. Chicken and drinks are provided. All who wish to attend may bring a side dish if desired. Priscilla loved the University of Tennessee Volunteers, so we're requesting folks to wear Tennessee Orange and White.

Priscilla, and I worked together at Allstate for many years. I remember her being a beautiful soul and a very kind person. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

We were saddened to hear the news of Priscilla´s passing. We both worked with her at Allstate. I enjoyed her sense of humor and can still hear her calling me by a nickname only she used for me. Her bright light will be missed and thankful we will see each other again in the afterlife. Sending prayers and asking for God´s healing for family and friends during this difficult time.
