Robert Astalos Obituary

Robert Stephen Astalos passed away on Sunday, April 6th, after 91 and a half years of a joyful life. He'd spent his professional life working in human relations for various companies, before starting his own company, Team Communications. Bob developed his own set of personality tests which he used to evaluate employees, helping them to understand how they related to others in conflict situations. His talent was appreciated by many corporations, including Coca Cola, NASA, GA Pacific and more.

He was also a very talented musician, playing piano, saxophone, clarinet, flute, guitar, bass, and almost any other instrument that crossed his path. He was very active in his various churches and enjoyed being a part of Via de Cristo, Cursillo, Kairos, Stephen Ministry, and Lion's Club. Bob always had a chuckle, a hug, and a loving attitude. He will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Joanne in 2014. He is survived by his sister Patricia, his daughter Stephanie (Mike), his sons Mark (Catherine), Michael (Vivian), and Robert (Coleen), 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and his loving girlfriend, Lynn.

Services will be at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 2375 Hwy 20 SE, Conyers, GA 30013, at 11:00am on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025. Reception to follow.

I didn't get to spend much time with uncle Bob, but he was always one of my favorite uncles (and I had about 8 of them). He was super warm and inviting whenever I did see him, and he made me feel special even though we didn't really know each other that well. I admired his entrepreneurial spirit from afar, and how he used that to help people to deal with conflict, something that I have a tendency to want to shy away from. Maybe I should have recognized this earlier and asked him about it!

I also admired his musical talent, and probably have been a bit jealous of it. I remember being at his house some 30 years ago and seeing all of his instruments and trying to play a couple of them. And I remember being introduced to the Unforgettable tribute album that Natalie Cole did. I was completely blown away. I can still picture myself listening to that album in his house on that great sound system that he had, and I can still hear those smooth vocals too. It's funny how much impact that one album had on me.

Rest in peace Uncle Bob. If there is one person that I'd love to run into in the afterlife, it would be you! Because I'm sure that you are having a great time!

So sorry to hear this, Bob was a wonderful friend, I enjoyed working with him and Lynn in Stephen Ministry. They were such a blessing to me. Lynn, my thoughts and prayers are with you and Bob's family. God Bless each of you as you travel through this passage of transition. Much Love, Patsy

I don´t often think of Bob without thinking of Joanne. They were an amazing team. His gifts of leadership and music are deeply appreciated and will be missed.
