Roger Smith Obituary

Roger Allen Smith, 59, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. He was born on September 19, 1965, and was a son of Emma (Anderson) Switzer, and the late Daniel Howard Smith. Roger was an avid outdoorsman and loved 4-wheeling in his Jeep, fishing, aimlessly driving, and seeking out good food. Roger is survived by three children, Ashley (Mike Atkins) Smith, Krystal (Zachery) Keen, and Jessica Smith; a brother, Robert (Cheryl) Smith; sister, Ronda (Monte) Shifflett; seven grandchildren, DeAnna, Cambree, Aubrey, Zachary, Lucas, Lincoln, and Eli; a friend who he considered a son, Vedran Balic. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Smith. and a grandson, Hunter. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family c/o Johnson Funeral Service to aid in funeral expenses. Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Bridgewater. Online condolences may be shared with the family at johnsonfs.com.
