ANITA ZAMORA Obituary
33 years old
February 21, 1992 – May 4, 2025
YOUR WINGS WERE READY,
OUR HEARTS WERE NOT
Anita, gifted to Sunny Bynum-Zamora and Rene' Dion Zamora, passed on Sunday, May 4, from alcoholic hepatitis.
Anita was an accomplished pianist, chef, baker, and visual artist-a meticulous wood carver-who had four drawings published by the age of eleven in magazines such as Pokémon and Beckett Anime Collector. She received the Melissa Engestrom Youth Artist Award from the Mayor of Santa Fe while working at The Santa Fe Children's Museum.
Born in the first year of Gen Z, Anita nevertheless could write in cursive and read an analog clock-skills attributed to being homeschooled by her parents. She was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, earned her degree from Santa Fe Community College, and received the National Society of Leadership and Success Award.
Anita also worked at Santa Fe Tails, East Wing Eatery, Hutton Broadcasting, and Papa Murphy's Pizza. She loved her cat, Ajna; drawing, reading, belly dancing with the Saltanah Dancers, and gaming.
Please join her family and friends from 4:00–7:00PM on Friday, July 4, 2025, at The Santa Fe Children's Museum to celebrate her life and share memories. (RSVP by June 25 to [email protected]).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Anita to The Santa Fe Children's Museum.
