EGAN MCCORMICK Obituary

EGAN MCCORMICK
April 21, 1955 -
July 26, 2025
On July 26, Egan lost his long battle with COPD.
Born in Omaha, Nebraska, he moved to Los Alamos at just three months of age. He graduated from Los Alamos High School and went on to earn his Bachelor's degree in Economics from UNM. While working full-time at LANL and raising his family, he obtained his MBA from UNM–Los Alamos.
His pride and joy were his four children: Tyler (Lauren), Lacey, Chelsea, and Micaela (John), and his two grandchildren, Logan and Abel.
He could never do enough for them-whether it was delivering Girl Scout cookies or Boy Scout popcorn. He served as president of the JROTC and the Golf Course Pool Association. He coached soccer and even helped deliver newspapers when all four of his children had paper routes.
He is survived by his four children; his wife of nearly 43 years, Jacquie; his grandchildren; his brother, Zachary; his nephew, Chris (Joy); and grandniece, Ellie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Amy, his mother- and father-in-law, and both brothers-in-law.
Egan always had a joke to tell (not all of them good!) and always made time to say "I love you"-even with his last breath. He is sorely missed and did everything he could to prolong his life.
Many thanks to the wonderful caregivers at MANNM and LAMC. He especially loved the employees at Pulmonary Rehab.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
