Charles Thier Obituary

Charles R. Thier III, 48, of West Brunswick Township, Orwigsburg, passed away Saturday at Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Jan. 12, 1966, he was a son of Barbara L. Wolfrath Thier, Orwigsburg, and the late Charles R. Thier Jr., whom he missed dearly.

He was the husband of Kelly A. Fegley Thier. They were married Dec. 19, 1992.

He graduated from Blue Mountain High School in 1984, and he was raised in the Catholic faith.

Charlie worked as a police officer and later moved on to be a senior system analyst for several Fortune 500 companies, at one time holding a position that only two people in the nation held.

He was the ultimate handyman, renovating not only his own home but always available to help others with their needs.

He enjoyed traveling with the love of his life, his wife, Kelly, whom he adored. When Charlie was at home, he would enjoy spending time with his animals, which he referred to as his "furry children," as well as family and friends. He was quick to provide support to a friend. Although he had no children of his own, he was a beloved mentor to his nieces and nephews. Charlie was a much loved husband, son, brother, uncle and friend.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Kelly, Orwigsburg, and mother, Barbara, are sisters, Dawn M., wife of George W. Turitto, Lehighton, and Kelly A., wife of Hamilton Handling III, Auburn; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service in Charlie's memory will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., Orwigsburg. Friends are invited to call from 6 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday. To honor Charlie's memory, please enable an act of kindness with a contribution to The Gift of Life donor program.

Charlie- You stood behind me at so many critical times of my life, guiding me with just the right advice at the right time. I am heartbroken to know that you will no longer be there, on a phone, at your home or in my driveway. But I am hopeful to see your wonderful smile in the heavenly glory God has promised.
