JoAnn Flake Obituary

JoAnn Jojo Flake LUBBOCK-JoAnn Flake left this world to be with Christ Jesus in Heaven on July 19, 2015. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 76 years today, July 21, 2015, at 5 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers with a reception following. A tribute of JoAnn's life may be found at www.memorialdesigners.net, where you may leave memories and expressions of sympathy for her family and view services. She was born on July 26, 1938, to James and Nettie Faye Henson. She attended Lubbock High School and married her high school sweetheart, Ashley Lane Flake, in 1955. JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and all five of her siblings: Tim Henson, Joy Hemphill, Billy Henson, Wanda Mitchell, and Laudis Beavers. She is survived by her children, Lane Flake and wife Lisa, Wade Flake and wife Rebecca, and Snow Mills and husband James. JoAnn was lovingly known as Jojo by her six grandchildren: Trey, Hannah, JoAnn Danee, Lauren, Leila, and Autumn, and her two great-granddaughters, Sophie and Melody. Jojo loved Jesus deeply and prayed extensively for her loved ones. Her favorite things were to be surrounded by all of her children, grandchildren, and the hot summer sun. She was so gentle and kind, and she loved her family with her whole heart. Jojo will be deeply missed. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. -Romans 6:23
