Frank Mayo Obituary

Frank E. Mayo, III
01/18/1943 - 06/28/2025
Frank Edward Mayo, III of Fairfield, California passed away on June 28, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family. Born in San Francisco, Frank moved with his family to San Mateo as a child. He attended St. Matthew's Grammar School in San Mateo and San Mateo High School. He then received both his undergraduate degree and law degree at the University of San Francisco. He started his legal career as an assistant district attorney in Kings County and then entered private practice in Santa Clara County where he remained for the rest of his career.
Frank, known to his family as Duke, is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Mayo and Catherine Mayo. He is survived by his sister, Erin Makarczyk (Carl), brother, Terence Mayo (Mary), several nieces and nephews and his spouse, Susan Brooks of Fairview, Tennessee.
An avid sailor, Frank skippered his boat for many years in the Bay and along the California coast. He enjoyed bicycling, gardening, his two labradoodles and his travels to China, France and Italy. Frank was admired by those who knew him for his infectious laugh and mischievous sense of humor. Most of all, he loved to cook and would spend hours preparing lavish holiday meals for his family.
Frank will be missed greatly. A gathering to celebrate his life and memory will be held at a later date; please contact Mayo Makarczyk at [email protected] for more information.
