I met Bob Day, DDS while I served as the Dental Alumni Association alumni coordinator at UCSF approximately 20 years ago. Each year the DAA organized a "Scientific Session" to allow dentists/dental hygienists to meet continuing education credit requirements, as well as attend a number of class reunions. I assisted in the planning of this event with each Dental Alumni Association President, and therefore worked with Bob Day on this assignment the year he was the President. He was always well organized, articulate, thoughtful, considerate and wanted everything to go off with out a hitch. So, it was to my shock and horror the first day of the event that Bob had arranged in advance, and unbeknown to anyone except a number of his students, to appear at the first day registration at the Palace Hotel to walk among the crowds of dental professionals wearing obviously crooked and rotten dentures sticking out of mouths. I still recall my mouth dropping thinking "Who are they and what are they doing here?" A brilliant guy that Bob ....with a sense of humor mixed in. God Bless.

I remember when Bob and I stood outside the medical center saying goodbye upon graduating not knowing he would spend decades at the same place and I returning there in dental school.
I last saw him at our 60th anniversary of Pharmacy class.

One of my favorite memories with grandpa Bob was when me and my brother and dad went to visit him and we were at the dinner table and we were telling each other riddles, he was telling funny jokes and it was a great time.
