MILLCREEK ROAD - Mary Lou (Magoto) DeMange, age 87, formerly of Millcreek Road, Sidney, passed away peacefully of natural causes mid-day, Saturday July 12, 2025, at Brookdale of Troy in Troy, Ohio, where she had been a resident for nearly seven years.
She was born August 27, 1937, in Sidney, Ohio, to the late Cletus & Clara (Guillozet) Magoto. On July 15, 1961, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney, Mary Lou married Lawrence DeMange who preceded her in death on June 12, 2017. She is survived by one sister, Patricia & Tom Rutschilling of South Charleston and three sisters-in-law, Rose Magoto of New Knoxville, Joan Large of Houston and Delores Beisner of Greenville along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by four siblings: Norman & Patricia Magoto, Cletus Magoto Jr., Jeannette Benson and Marvin & Patty Magoto as well as several brothers & sisters-in-law from the DeMange family.
A graduate of Holy Angels High School, Mary Lou was retired from the Monarch Machine Tool Co. in Sidney where she had been a secretary for 42 years. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Newport and a past (long-time) member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney. Mary Lou was dedicated to her husband and her extended family. She enjoyed baking (especially cookies) and keeping in touch with her classmates.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Newport with Rev. Mark Bredestege presiding. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Family and friends may call Thursday, 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie. Memorials may be made to the Sts. Peter & Paul Church Building Fund or charities of choice. Private condolences may be expressed at the gehretfuneralhome.com website.
