Margaret DINGLE Obituary

February 16, 1937 - June 29, 2025

Spokane - Margaret Carol Dingle passed away peacefully, on June 29, 2025, at the age of 88, in Spokane, WA. Born on February 16, 1937, Margaret spent her early years in Clinton, Iowa, graduating from Clinton High School in 1955, before attending the University of Iowa, where she earned her teaching degree.

On July 2, 1961, she married Robert J. Dingle Jr. in Clinton, Iowa. They had many adventures as they traveled across the country for Robert's work in the United States Air Force.

Margy, as she liked to be called, dedicated her professional life to education, touching many lives as an elementary school teacher at various schools. Later, she served as an office coordinator at Knox McDaniel in Ogden, UT. Known affectionately as "Mighty Marg," she was celebrated for her patient, empathetic nature and seemingly non-stop energy.

Margy was an active member of the Colbert Presbyterian Church and participated in a variety of activities. Her hobbies included clogging, fishing, RV trips with her husband, ushering at the Fox Theater, playing pickleball, gardening, and she was an avid walker. She was blessed with numerous deep and enduring friendships, a constant source of strength.

Margy was the cherished matriarch of a loving family. She is survived by her sons, Scott and Gregg Dingle; grandchildren, Audrey Dingle Blackham, Kylie Dingle, and Alec Dingle; great-grandchildren, Ava Dingle, Lyla Dingle, Imogen Blackham, and Emrys Blackham; and sisters, Dorothy Carbee and Betty Squires. Her husband, Robert J. Dingle Jr.; and her parents, Laurence and Harriet Rieger Kynett, preceded her in death.

A service to celebrate Margy's life will be held at Colbert Presbyterian Church, 4211 East Colbert Road, Colbert, WA 99005, on Friday, July 25, at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Margy's memory may be made to New Hope Resource, Hospice of Spokane, or Shriners Children's Hospital. Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and a vibrant spirit will be deeply missed, but fondly remembered, by all who knew her.

In 1957 I met Margy, a true life friend when teaching in Tipton, Iowa. From there we spent summers in Colorado at Boulder for summer school and working at Santa's Workshop in Colorado Springs to be near Bob at the USAF Academy. Our fun friendship continued through marriage, children, and grandchildren. What a wonderful time to have shared it with Margy and Bob. Our deepest sympathy to Scott, Greg, Betty, and Dorothy.

Margy and Bob were long time friends dating to the 1960s. We were next door neighbors on Kirtland AFB in 1969, and Margy helped Hanson set up the "baby room" when we brought Craig home from the hospital--and she was there for us during our remaining time as neighbors. Later, Hanson lived with the Dingles in Northern Virginia while waiting for our home to be ready following Hanson's assignment to the Pentagon. Margy was a gracious lady for sure!

I first met Margy in the summer of 1960 when she moved to Colorado Springs to be closer to Bob who was a cadet at the USAF Academy. It was obvious that the two of them were meant to be together from that point on. After graduation, our friendship continued and my wife and I joined them for days on the Rehoboth Beach, DE, sightseeing in Washington DC and skiing in Utah. Margy was always ready for an adventure and we saw that when she and Bob sold their house and began life in a motor home, trekking around the United States. We stayed in contact with Margy after Bob's passing and admired the way she dealt with her new circumstances, but Bob's memory was never far away. Our deepest condolences to Scott and Gregg and the Dingle family. While we can't be sure, we'd like to think, she and Bob have found each other in a better place. John and Sherry Moore

Margy and I danced with the River City Cloggers for many years. On occasion, she hemmed a few Clogging T shirts for me, willingly. I also knew her from the Dental Office of Dr Bill Molsberry. She was a precious friend, admired and loved by many. Margy will be missed.

We all have heavy hearts knowing that Margy has passed away. She was always so vivacious, so positive and always fun to be around. She will be missed but we all have happy memories of our growing up years together and will cherish those memories forever. The photo is of our old gang at our CHS class reunion in 2018.

Margy was truly a gem for all the people she knew. Myself and husband Karl Wagoner enjoyed many fishing trips and dinners with Margy and Robert (Bob) Dingle. While both couples decided to enjoy life in different cities in the USA we continued our friendship over many years.
