Barbara Deal Obituary

Barbara Ann Deal, 89, of Asheville, NC, died Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

Barbara was born February 12, 1936, in the Woodfin area of Asheville. She was a 1954 graduate of Woodfin High School and previously worked at Gerber Foods and later as a childcare provider before becoming a full-time homemaker.

She was a lifelong member of Elkwood United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Henry Wyatt, a brother, Bob Wyatt, and a sister, Dorothy Miller.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Jerry Deal; a son, Greg Deal, of Greenwood, SC; two grandchildren: Taylor Deal, of Simpsonville, SC, and Cameron Deal, of Greenwood, SC.; and special family friend, Shea Deal, of Greenwood, SC.

Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, with Tim Warren officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home following the service at 11 Elk Mountain Road, Asheville.

Honorary pallbearers will be church friends she made over the years and her nearby neighbors.
