Flood, James T.
97, of Maryland Heights, MO, passed away on 25 Oct. 2024 in the comfort of his family. Jim is preceded by wife (Mary), daughter (Kathryn Arnold), sisters (Betty McNabb, Margaret Zimmermann), survived by sons (Kevin and Jack (wife Kristy), granddaughter (Riley), grandsons (Jared and Nicholas Flood, and Trevor Just) and sister (Rose Cardens).
Jim was a WW2 USN veteran and began the war serving on a supply ship in the Philippines Islands. When hostilities ceased, his ship was ordered to Shang Hai to support operational duties from Sept 1945 - June 1946, and he returned to the US immediately after. He received an honorable discharge from the USN Training Center at Lambert Field, and immediately joined the Naval Reserve Inactive Organization to continue his service.
Jim took up employment with the Federal Government in 1950 and was employed by several agencies in the area, with the last tour of duty with the US Army Aviation Support System as a Procurement Manager/Contracting Officer. He retired in 1987.
A devoted husband and loving father, Jim was a man of kindness and integrity and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Services: Visitation Thursday, October 31, 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Church, 3130 Parkwood Ln. (Maryland Heights). Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
