Lester Otto Boyer, 87, of Cottage Grove, MN lost his valiant 15 yr battle with Alzheimer's, passing away on May 4, 2025 in MN. He was born in St. Louis on Jan 18, 1938.

He was raised in Steeleville, IL to Otto John and Clara 'nee' Schlimme Boyer. Also preceding him in death was a two day old sister, Darlene Lou. He attended St. Mark's Lutheran Church and School, grades 1st thru 8th. He graduated from Steeleville HS, then received a BS in Civil Engineering from Rolla School of Mines. After Naval OSC, his Pacific tour of duty aboard the APA George Clymer took him to the Vietnam War. He completed his duty in Norfolk on the Pulaski County. He received his Master's and spent 32 years working for Monsanto, retiring from Monsanto Enviro Chem. He is survived by his wife, Beverly, who he married on April 16, 1966. Also surviving, his daughter, Bridget Pace (David) their three children: Caitlin, Hunter and Ryker of MN; and a son, Brian and his three children: Taylour, Cooper and Truman from the KC area.

He spent 60 years in St. Louis, the last 28 in retirement playing golf, traveling to over 80 countries, enjoying friends and attending as many grandchildren's activities as possible. He was a man of great faith belonging to Immanuel Lutheran Church Olivette. He passed away at the Minneapolis, VA hospital where he received compassionate care and a very dignified send-off.
