John Herrmann Hart was born March 17, 1951 to Marcel and Dolores (Herrmann) Hart. He was Baptized and later Confirmed in the faith at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hollywood Township, New Germany. John grew up in New Germany, MN and graduated from Mayer Lutheran High School in 1969. He continued his education at a trade school in Anoka. On October 10, 1971 John was united in marriage to Lynette Hilk.
John diligently and happily worked in retail for most of his life; employed by Sears in Eden Prairie and the Mall of America for 32 years and for the past 20 years at True Value in Mound. He found peace in the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting. John was also an avid sports fan and loved to travel. A highlight was the annual trip to Grand View Lodge in Nisswa, MN.
Family was everything to John. From attending all his kids and grandkids activities to the delicate care of his mother. John made sure his loved ones were his priority.
Faith was of high importance to John. He delighted in volunteering at Trinity Lutheran Church for over 40 years, faithfully serving in many capacities with unwavering dedication. He took great pride in ensuring that everything ran smoothly behind the scenes, often going above and beyond to support the church's operations. As Head Usher, he led and coordinated the usher schedule, ensuring they were in their right place to greet people, hand out bulletins, and manage the collection plates during service. He also set up Communion and prepared the banner for Baptism, always ensuring their accuracy. John's dedication was evident as he was often the last to leave, ensuring that everything was in order before departing. Since his Confirmation at St. John's Lutheran Church in New Germany, John was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church Dartball Team, eagerly participating and enjoying the camaraderie and friendly competition.
John believed all things worth doing were worth doing well. Precision, punctuality and sincerity were part of his nature. Others were drawn to his compassionate and personable nature. He deeply cared for others and will be dearly missed.
