Mark Kaiser Obituary

Mark Wayne Kaiser

October 8, 1961 - May 2, 2025

Mark Wayne Kaiser, beloved father, grandfather, son, and brother, passed away suddenly at home on May 2, 2025. He was 63.

Born in Longview, WA on October 8, 1961, Mark was the second of three children born to Gail (née Mackey) and Larry Kaiser. Mark moved to Pullman with his family at the age of three and lived with them in college housing while his father completed a degree at WSU. He loved going to visit Butch the cougar mascot on campus and Ferdinand's ice cream.

After moves to Portland and Phoenix, the family settled in the Bay Area in 1971. Mark graduated from Pinole Valley High School in 1979. He worked at Berkeley Farms Dairy Plant, fished on an Alaskan trawler and eventually followed his folks back to Lewis County, where generations of Kaisers have lived since the 1920s. Mark made his living working with wood, in mills and later as a cabinet maker in Centralia and Toledo. Since 2015 he lived in Onalaska.

Mark's two daughters and two grandsons were bright lights in his life, as were all his family. He was a brilliant comedic storyteller, who could place his listeners in the middle of the action. Mark was an outdoorsman who sometimes hunted with a bow and loved to fish the Cowlitz River. He appreciated good food and drink around the family table.

Mark spent the last years of his life providing loving support to his parents alongside his sister and brother.

Mark is survived by his daughters Kellsea Kaiser and Allison Kaiser, grandsons Wyatt and Benson Chisholm, father Larry Kaiser, sister Sandy Kaiser and brother Larry A. Kaiser. He was preceded in death by his mother Gail Kaiser. A memorial service will take place in early summer.
