Richard Lett Obituary

Evans, GA – Greg was born August 9, 1957, in Tampa, Florida, to Claude Lett Jr. and Peggy Corley Lett, passed away on July 5, 2025, at the age of 67.

Greg is survived by his daughter: Stephanie (Brian) Williams; grandchildren: Jacob Hannum, Graham Williams, Corbin Williams, and Liam Pitts; siblings: Claude Lett III, Jeffery Lett, and Stacia Lett and other family members which include his aunt, cousins, nieces, and nephews and his beloved sidekick: Sugabooga, his little chihuahua. He is preceded in death by his daughter: Melissa Ann Pitts, and his parents.

Greg was a fantastic father, devoted friend, and dedicated worker. He graduated from the Academy of Richmond County class of 1975. After graduation Greg worked for Shoney's Restaurant for most of his career, starting as a dishwasher and working his way up to District Manager. Before retiring, he was the Manager of Home Team Sports in the Augusta Mall. Greg enjoyed watching Georgia Football, the Atlanta Braves and collecting coca-cola memorabilia. He was always the one to make the jokes and "Stir the Pot". Greg built and maintained many friendships, dating back as far as 50 years.

"He Is Gone (Remember Me)" by David Harkins

You can shed tears that he is gone,

Or you can smile because he lived,

You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back,

Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left.

Your heart can be empty because you can't see him

Or you can be full of the love that you shared,

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,

Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember him and only that he is gone

Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on,

You can cry and close your mind be empty and turn your back,

Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes,

love and go on.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday July 9, 2025 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Thomas L. King Funeral Home.

I look across the street waiting to see u at the window or for my phone to ring and u ask me the usual question " what am I doing?" U r missed SO MUCH and I just can't believe you're gone! I had so much more to say had I known...Love u my friend!!

Only fond memories of a fun childhood with my three nephews, Greg, being the youngest. He was a loving nephew and I will miss our phone conversations since we live many miles apart, as adults. Rest in peace sweet Greg. Say hello to Big Mama and your sweet mama.
