Joseph Trese Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we mark the passing of Joseph (Joe) Condon Trese Jr. on July 25th, 2025, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. Joe left this earth to be with the Lord and join his wife Corinne (Livernois) Trese in heaven. Joe was born in Detroit Michigan on December 29, 1931, to Joseph Condon Trese Sr. and Mildred Woodard Trese. Joe is also preceded in death by his parents and his siblings; Susan (Trese) Miller, Anne "Nancy" (Trese) Mance and Michael Trese.

On September 9th, 1961, Joe married Corinne Livernois at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Ecorse, Michigan. Corinne preceded him in death on June 26, 1976. Joe is survived by his children; Paul (wife Joanne) of Bend, Oregon, Patrick of Cicero, Indiana, Stephen of Arvada, Colorado, Glenn (wife Martha) of Howard Ohio and Mary (husband Jason Evans) of Alexandria Ohio. He is also survived by grandchildren Nicholas, Katherine, Megan, Genevieve, Kimberly, Luke, Alyssa and Elena.

Following his graduation from Redford High School in Detroit, Michigan Joe proudly enlisted in the US Army and served in Africa during the time of the Korean conflict. He vividly would recount for friends and family his adventures while deployed to Africa and the adventures of traveling around the world. Following his military service, Joe enrolled at Michigan Technical University in Houghton, Michigan. While at Michigan Tech, Joe was a proud member of the Theta Tau fraternity, and graduated with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering, leading to a successful career that eventually led him to settle in New Castle.

After working at both Chrysler and Ford manufacturing facilities in Detroit during breaks from college, Joe began his engineering career at Alcoa. Originally assigned to the Alcoa facility in Vernon California, Joe then received a promotion and relocated to the Alcoa facility in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. While living in the Pittsburgh area, Joe began working for Allegheny Ludlum. It was while employed by Allegheny that Joe was transferred to the New Castle facility. Joe's career culminated during his tenure at Ball Corporation in Muncie. Colleagues recall not only a remarkable work ethic, but also a generous spirit – one who lent a helping hand whenever needed. Throughout and following his career, Joe was an active member of the American Society of Metals (ASM).

Upon moving to New Castle in 1973, Joe became an active member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. His devotion to his faith was at the forefront of Joe as a person, and his commitment to St. Anne's continued until his passing. For many years Joe could be found at Rose Bowl in New Castle, bowling in one of many leagues. He also frequently attended his children's sporting or musical events, in general just being a great dad.

As we bid farewell, we do so with gratitude for the countless ways Joe's life has shaped our own. The legacy is not merely in achievements or accolades, but in the kindness shown, the laughter shared, and the love that continues forward.

Visitation will be held at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle from 4 -7 PM on Friday August 1, 2025. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday August 2, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Joe will then be laid to rest with his wife Corinne in Detroit, Michigan.
