Theresa Dylla Obituary
Theresa Ann Dylla
Theresa Ann Dylla, age 93, of Bryan went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Sodalis Nursing Home. Theresa was born on October 15, 1931, in Cibolo, TX, to parents Henry Robert and Ottilla Maria (Kruse) Mueller.
Theresa grew up and attended some of her schooling in Cibolo. As the years passed, Theresa eventually married Gilbert Peter Dylla, her lifelong companion and best friend. On July 30, 1955, the couple bound their lives together at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma, Texas. The couple would bless this world with four children, whom Theresa loved with all her heart. The family would eventually move to the Bryan area sixty-five plus years ago, where Theresa would remain a resident for the remainder of her life. Theresa was part-owner and operator for Gil's Radio & TV for many years. Theresa did more than that for a living; she was also a housewife and caregiver for her four children. Theresa was active in both the Bereavement Committee and the Altar Society at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bryan. Theresa's favorite activities were gardening, dancing to polka music with her partner Gilbert, and spending Christmas with her amazing family. Theresa enjoyed hosting family get-togethers in her home and participating in all their events. On several mornings and afternoons, Theresa would sit on her back porch and observe the birds. In her free time, Theresa enjoyed playing bingo with her loved ones. Most of all, Theresa loved her congregation and will always be remembered for her kindness. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort knowing Theresa is now at peace with her Lord and Savior.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ottilla, and sisters, Helen and Margaret.
Theresa leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 70 years, Gilbert Dylla; daughters, Bernadette Long and husband, Ronald, Betty Bouley, and Linda Lindberg and husband, Robert; son, Donald Dylla and wife, Celeste; sister, Cecelia Padalecki, fifteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral mass for Theresa will be held at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Bryan on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Brian Eilers officiating. Theresa will be laying in repose for visitors at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home in Temple on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Following the Mass, Theresa will be laid to rest in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Bryan.
