Kenneth Harms Obituary

Kenneth R. Harms, Age 91, of Onslow, IA passed away at the Clarence Nursing Home on Thursday, January 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Ken was born on November 15, 1933, in Onslow, IA. He was the son of the late Harm and Mildred (Hamilton) Harms. Ken was born on the family farm North of Onslow, IA where he farmed until his retirement. He was a 1951 graduate of Onslow High School. He was a veteran in the US Army where he served from 1953-1955. He was a longtime member of the Onslow Presbyterian Church, the Onslow Community Club, as well as a member of the Wyoming American Legion Post 0259. Those left to cherish Ken's memory is his wife, Barbara, of Onslow, IA; his sons, Brett (Janetta) Harms of Wyoming, IA, and Bart (Sue) Harms, of Onslow, IA; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Phyllis Harms, and Shirly Holcrud, and a nephew, Kevin Bahnsen. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Clarence Nursing Home for all the love and support they showed Ken while he was in their care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Onslow Community Club. Condolences for the family may be left at www.iowacrematon.com under obituaries.
