Steven Miller Obituary

Steven G. Miller, age 70 longtime resident of this area, died Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Briarwood Healthcare Center in Iowa City. Steven was born December 11, 1954, in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Eugene and Jessie Loretta (Fleming) Miller. He attended Iowa City Schools including Central Junior High and West High School. For over 20 years he worked for the Iowa City Transit System, during this time he served as the Steward and later president of the AFSCME Local 186. He was very pro-union, supporter of the democratic party, enjoyed bird watching, dogs, and his favorite sports teams, Iowa Hawkeyes, St. Louis Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings; but most important to Steve was his family and friends. His family includes sisters, Margaret Miller (Mike Lambert) and Barbara Phillips (Bob); brothers, Thomas Miller (Helen) and Ralph Miller; 8 nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and nephews; and his best friend since junior high school, Dean Estling He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Sharon M.
