William Caley Obituary

William "Bill" Caley Jr, 67, of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday evening, December 24th, 2024, at Haven Hospice in Lake City. He was born in Saint Louis, Missouri, to William Caley, Sr. and Clare Gruenloh Caley on July 3rd, 1957. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Clare Caley, and brother, Robert (Bob) Caley.
In his spare time, he enjoyed coaching sports, following multiple sports teams, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He started his career at GATX as a Supervisor of Maintenance. Following that he was a Train Conductor at CSX railroad for 10 years. He then followed his passion for working with children and became the Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club in Lake City where he changed the lives of countless children.
He is survived by his loving wife Cindy; son, William Caley III, and his daughters Holly Carmichael (Mikell) and Debra Jenkins (Jeff); three grandchildren, Caley Massey (Bryce), Brooke Carmichael (Aidan Beiter) and Aubree Jenkins; one great grandson, Keith Massey; and his siblings Christine Bond (Mike), Charlene Dampier (John, deceased), Cathy Blowers (David), Brian Caley (Laura), and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Caley will be conducted on Tuesday, December 31st at 2:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Trey Lee officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Haven Hospice.
