Mary Knight Obituary

FORT LAWN, S.C. - Mrs. Mary Louise Knight, 75, passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, at her home.

She was born May 20, 1949, in Kershaw, S.C., a daughter of the late Talma Lewis Knight and the late Bertha Sims Knight and was the loving wife of Walter James Knight.

Mrs. Knight enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers. She loved traveling to the beach and the mountains. Mrs. Knight loved to thrift shops you could find her thrifting at a yard sale or at Goodwill.

Mrs. Knight is survived by her husband, James Knight; her son, Billy Randall Outen; her two grandchildren, Ricky Outen (Pam), and Christy Marie Outen; three great-grandchildren, Jazelle Jones, Latrell Jones, and Makell Jones; two sisters, Sharlene Knight, and Allison Moree (Donovan); and many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Dena Jones; her parents, Talma and Bertha Knight; her brother, Jerry Knight; and her two sisters, Marlene Knight, and Emma Gainey.

The celebration of life funeral service for Mrs. Knight will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kershaw City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan, 22, at Burgess Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
