Beverly Ann Phalmer

December 22, 1941 - May 17, 2025

Olympia, Washington - Beverly Ann Phalmer, born December 22, 1941 passed away at Providence St. Peter Hospital with her family by her side May 17, 2025. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Born and raised on her parent's homestead in Bow, WA, she later moved to Olympia in 1971. Following retirement from DSHS after many years, she enjoyed her luncheon dates with old coworkers and friends. She also enjoyed volunteering at the food bank. Beverly was an avid Seattle sports fan and lover of most sports in general. She enjoyed talking/texting with her grandchildren during games discussing players and how Coach Beverly could do things more effectively. She always carried dog bones in her trunk. It wouldn't be uncommon to find a dog waiting patiently near Beverly's car where they knew there was a bottomless supply. Her love and dedication to her family will be incredibly missed. She was a faithful supporter of her grandkids and great grandkids; seldom absent from any game, concert, or activity they were involved with. It didn't matter if it was hours away or pouring down rain, Grandma Bev was there cheering them on.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Julia Johnson; her brother, Andrew; and her sister, Betty Lou.

She was survived by her husband of 53 years, James Phalmer; her siblings Shirley, Susan, Lyle, Carol, Barb, Marlys, and Kenny; her children Kristi Thompson (Perry) and Wendy Fuik (Roy); her stepchildren Laurie Himmelrick (Ken), Kristi Phalmer, and Kurt Phalmer (Alice); her grandchildren Nick (Maria), Lindsey, Taylor (Suzy), Kelsey (Bill), Ben, and Katie; and six great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held in the fall at Edison Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local food bank.
