Betty Morroni Obituary

PORT MATILDA - Betty Anne Morroni, 89, of Port Matilda, formerly of Smithmill, passed away on Friday, Jan. 3, 2025 at her home.

Born on April 8, 1935 in Ramey, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Mary C. (Charmer) Rerko.

On Aug. 24, 1957 she married John A. Morroni in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey. He survives at home.

She graduated from Moshannon Valley Joint H.S. in 1953, and the Philipsburg State Hospital School of Nursing in 1956. She worked as a registered nurse for 35 years at Philipsburg State Hospital until its closure in 1991.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Port Matilda, and formerly a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ramey.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Lisa Wulderk and Karen May; seven grandchildren, Brandon Morroni, Thomas Wulderk, Chris Wulderk, Jordan May, Kyle May, Hannah May, and Mackenzie May; and 11 great-grandchildren, Andrew, Alex, Austin, Violet, and Harper Wulderk, Cynthia, Anthony, and Lucia Morroni, Soleia and Mylah May, and Theo Schlosser.

She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Morroni; four brothers, Leonard, Edward, Charles, Jr., and John; and two sisters, Florence and Helen.

Friends will be received Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 867 Grays Woods, Blvd., Port Matilda with the Rev. Jozef Kovacik will be the celebrant. She will then be interred at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Ramey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
