Phyllis Caplinger Obituary
GOREVILLE - Phyllis Joy Caplinger, 77, of Goreville died Monday, March 17, 2025.
She was a preschool teacher. She was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Goreville.
She is survived by her five children, Lorie Brown, Amy Pryor, Tom Caplinger, Debra Caplinger and Tim Caplinger; 15 grandchildren, Gabriel, Caleb, Josiah, Isaiah, Micah, Matthew, Dakota, Samantha, Clay, Daniel, Kayce, Austein, Myranda, Chris and Paige; five great-grandchildren; five siblings, Susie, Gene, Gayla, Ronnie, and Tom; sponsored son, Juan Tovar Romo; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with one son, Daniel (born pre-maturely), and her parents, Thomas Elmer and Opal Marie (Shoemaker) Newton, she is preceded in death by five of her siblings.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 24, in Crain Funeral Home Egyptian Chapel, with Gary Brown officiating. Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Egyptian Memorial Gardens.
Crain Funeral Home Egyptian Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
