Columbia, South Carolina - Margaret "Peggy" Hemphill, 72, of Columbia passed peacefully at home on the morning of Saturday, April 26, 2025.
Mrs. Hemphill was born on February 8, 1953, in Columbia to Joan and James Davis. She was a loving wife and mother who always had a smile and never met a stranger. She was a longtime member of Suber-Marshall Memorial United Methodist Church where her mother and grandmother were founding members. She was an avid reader and loved long walks on the beach.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lee Hemphill, her son and daughter-in-law, Stuart and Tracy Hemphill, brothers-in-law Paul Bozard and Cedric (Patricia) Nicholes, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Martha Bozard.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Suber-Marshall Memorial United Methodist Church. Contributions can be made in Mrs. Hemphill's memory to the church, 3900 Live Oak St, Columbia, SC 29205.
