Carol Davis Obituary

Mrs. Carol Faye Ledford Davis, 73, of Ellijay, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025.

She was born in Ellijay on July 20, 1951, to parents Robert Ledford and Dorothy Faye Dale.

She was a proud member of Dover's Chapel Church and retired from Shaw Industries as a supervisor.

She is preceded in death by great-grandson, Rylin Colt Payne.

She loved spending time with children and grandchildren, and many games of dominoes were played around her kitchen table. She was affectionately known as "Nannie" to so many people. She loved to cook and always had enough food to feed everyone - if you left her home hungry, it was your own fault.

She also had a deep love for flowers and was often found tending to them in her yard.

She is survived by husband of 57 years, the Rev. Robert Eugene Davis, of Ellijay; daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Brian Scott McKinney, of Ellijay; son, Kelly Davis, of Ellijay; grandchildren, Joe Payne, Summer Davis, Justin and Mkinzey Payne, and Austin and Katie Davis; great-grandchildren, Miranda Payne, Maverick Payne, Brayley Payne and Rhodes Davis; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2025, from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Smith, the Rev. Brondy Davis and the Rev. Harold Mull officiating.

Interment followed in the Dover's Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Justin Payne, Alan Hall, Phillip Blue, Austin Davis, Tony Davis, Michael Davis, Billy Allen, Terry Richards and Tim Parks. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Wehunt, Brian Scott and Jamie Payne.
