July 4, 1936 - August 2, 2024

Beverly Ruth Darnell, a beloved resident of Amelia Court House, passed away at the age of 88 on August 2, 2024. She was born on July 4, 1936, in Richmond, to Dorothy Taylor and Stuart Hicks.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dorothy Kirwin, her son, David Lewis, and her husbands Charles Darnell and Lester "Pee Wee" Lewis.

Beverly is survived by her sons Forrest (Stephanie) and Stuart (Sheila) Lewis, daughters Mary Kay Cantrell and Amy Lewis, sisters Mary Jean (Barry) Deal and Maxine (George) Neagle, brother Stuart Hicks, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will always carry her memory in their hearts.

Plans for her Celebration of Life are pending and will be shared through family and social media when finalized.

Butterflies do not come out into the rain. The rain damages their wings. Beverly, my dear sister received her wings on Friday, August 2, 2024. She will be greatly missed. I will always miss her and love her. She was a wonderful "big sis"
