Thomas R. Evans

July 24, 1949 - February 1, 2025

Thomas R. Evans or Tom, as he was known better by friends and family, was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather. He passed suddenly but peacefully on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Tom was a strong hard-working man who always put his family first. His passions for building, fixing, and creating started early with his woodworking projects and being a crew chief for his sons race cars and progressed into his role as the one in charge of designing construction projects on the farm. When the day came, he was physically unable to help build the projects that he had planned he was always present to oversee the progress until completion. He was a detail-oriented man and always strived to create things with the highest quality within his abilities. He particularly loved projects that allowed him to acquire new tools to add to his significant collection. Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn, as well as his daughter-in-law Jaime. He is survived by his mother, Peggy Evans; his daughter, Wendy Burroughs; his son, Eric Evans; and his grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Bliley's, 8510 Staples Mill Road where a Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Westhampton Memorial Park where the service will be held indoors due to expected weather conditions.
