George Mitchell Obituary
Born Feb. 27, 1951, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Clair Mitchell and Elizabeth (Gordon) Mitchell.
George was known by many names by his friends, family and co-workers, depending on how you knew him. The most common ones were George, Bob, Mitch, Robby or Rob. George proudly served in the U.S. Army in Germany during Vietnam. He had worked as a mechanic for Rudolph's Auto Repair and in the maintenance department at UPMC Passavant. George had a love and passion for racing and anything automotive.
Surviving are his longtime partner, Lora Berry of Pittsburgh; four sons, Robert Mitchell of Butler, Ryan Mitchell of Butler, David Mitchell of Cabot and Drew Mitchell of Cabot; his brother, Daniel (Loretta) Mitchell of Valencia; and his sister, Donna Mitchell of Butler.
MITCHELL - Services for George R. Mitchell, who died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Chapel at Holy Savior Cemetery, 4629 Bakerstown Road, Gibsonia, with the Rev. William Dambach officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to Good Samaritan Hospice, 146 Neely School Road, Wexford, PA 15090. Flowers are not allowed in chapel.
Arrangements have been entrusted to FOX FUNERAL HOME, Saxonburg.

Sorry for your loss. My husband and I graduated High School with Bob. And I was his neighbor growing up from 5th grade on.

Thoughts and prayers to the family. George was a hard worker and good man. I had the pleasure to work with him for many years at Passavant hospital. George also allowed me to join him outside of work and join him in his personal life. I have fond memories of the time spent with the boys and the picnics/bonfires in the backyard. "George Bob" will be greatly missed and always remembered.
