Betty Faye (Eskue) Flowers, of Sanger, Texas, passed away on August 24, 2025, in Pilot
Point at the age of 89.
She was born on November 3, 1935, to Jessie and Wauneta (Cleaver) Eskue in Farris,
Oklahoma. Betty attended Farris Grade School and graduated from Atoka High School in 1954.
She later pursued classes in Dallas, Texas, to become a Telephone Operator for Southwestern
Bell. Her career continued with GTE (now Verizon), where she retired in 1991 in Denton,
Texas.
On July 23, 1954, Betty married the love of her life, Melvin Flowers, in Farris,
Oklahoma. Together, they built a life in Sanger with their three boys.
She is survived by her three sons, Elvin Flowers and wife Shirley of Sanger, Texas, Gary Flowers and wife Leann of Sanger, Texas, James Flowers and wife Chiawen (Denise) of Denton, Texas. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Karissa Flowers and her wife
Katherine of Denton, Texas, Dustin Flowers of Sanger, Texas, Coleton Blevins and his husband Michael of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Sofia Flowers and Hannah Flowers of Denton, Texas, and two step-grandchildren, Carrie (Saxon) Dunn and her husband Stephen of Gilmer, Texas and Phillip Saxon and his wife Shelly of Longview, Texas.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin Flowers, in November 2007; her brothers, James Alford Eskue (December 2017) and Johnny Dale Eskue (October 2013); and her sisters-in-law, Patsy Eskue (February 2013) and Linda Eskue (June 2025).
A graveside service for Mrs. Flowers will be at 2:00 pm on August 30, 2025, at Farris Cemetery in Farris, Oklahoma. Karissa Flowers, Dustin Flowers, and Coleton Blevins will serve as pallbearers.
