Carol Franchell Obituary
ALBANY - Carol Lise (Sevigny) Franchell born April 3, 1948, (parents Robert and Ghislaine (LaBarre) Sevigny), died August 9, 2025, leaving her brother, Richard, his wife; and her sister spirit, Jacquelyn. Grateful for a life of challenging work, continuous education, many serendipitous personal and professional chances and opportunities. She thanks her friends, coworkers and family for appreciating and/or loving her while letting her be who she is. It was a great ride and she loves you back. Earlier today
I met Carol at UMass in January 1967. Our friendship spanned 7 decades. I loved her and will miss her always. She was cheerful, athletic and smart. She loved cold weather and adventure. Her lovely voice was a sweet soprano and her laughter was just as beautiful. It's hard to believe that her kind heart has stopped beating and the silence to me is deafening.

Carol was a friend for many years. She was kind, smart, artistic, and kept a beautiful home. We frequently spoke about microbiology, and indeed, she was a professional. We stayed at her home on many occasions, and she was articulate and very witty
