ALBANY - Carol A. Williams, 83, of Albany, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025. Carol was born in Weymouth, Mass., the daughter of the late Arthur B. Williams, and Ellen L. Driscoll Williams. She lived in Albany much of her life and was employed by Albany Medical Center.
Carol was extremely close to the Filipino community in Albany. She took pride in being called "Mommy Carol" to her "kids" - the Filipino nurses at Albany Medical Center. Like a mom she truly was, she was there for them to support them every step of the way - from meeting them at the airport, taking them to church, giving them strength and encouragement when they took their NCLEX board, attending their milestones such as weddings, baptisms, sharing their grief when something unfortunate happens back home.
Carol was a woman of generosity. She volunteered at Ronald McDonald House, and she donated her body to the Albany Medical College. She was also very active in her Ohav Shalom community. She enjoyed spending time with her fellow residents, playing weekly Po-Ke-No and bingo games. Most of all, she was a friend to many - a listening ear, a quiet presence to those who needed comfort.
Carol is survived by her siblings, Donald P. Williams (the late Anna), Richard Williams (Dorothy), Gerald M. Williams (Donna), Ruth Woodbury, Ellen FE Montague (David), Jean Franciosi, and Theodore S. Williams; and by her sister-in-law, Nancy Williams. Her deceased siblings, are Gloria M. Fent, Robert H. Williams, Jay E. Williams, and Arthur Williams.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 900 Madison Ave., Albany. Relatives and friends are invited. To leave a message of condolence for the family, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com
