CLIFTON PARK -
Howard R. Wright, 96, of Clifton Park, peacefully entered into eternal life at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, June 20, 2025.
Born in Floral Park, N.Y., he was the son of the late Ralph Wright and Alice Agusta Rose Wright. He earned his Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from and pursued his Doctorate at RPI.
Howard was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, achieved the rank of Lieutenant and received his Honorable Discharge in 1966. He served on the USS Baltimore and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Naval Occupation Service Medal.
Howard spent his career as an executive at Saint Gobain (formerly Norton Co.) working across Europe in the areas of research, development, and manufacturing oversight and management. He was a member of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers and a senior member of The American Institute of Industrial Engineers.
Beloved husband for 58 years of Barbara L. Martin Day Wright; devoted father of Colleen (Rick) Umholtz and the late Robert (Pam) Wright; cherished grandfather of Scott M. (Adrienne) Salvagni Jr.; step-grandfather of Rick and Kaitlyn Umholtz; and adored great-grandfather of Scott M. Salvagni III and Morgan Salvagni. Howard is also survived by sister, Alice D'Amico; children, David and Patti; and grandchildren, Darcie Holifield, Matthew, Jessica and Jennifer Wright and Duncan (Spencer) Cole.
Private funeral services for the family were held at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home in Clifton Park as well as the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
