Theresa Ann Reardon — A Life Dedicated to Family and Faith
Reardon, Theresa Ann (nee Zitt), passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, at the age of 86, baptized into the hope of Christ’s resurrection.
The loving daughter of the late Herman J. and Mary A. Zitt (nee Matychowiak), born on December 1,1938, in St. Louis, Missouri. Theresa was the youngest of five children and beloved sister of Madeline (the late Frank) Alcamo and the late Herman (Marjorie) Zitt, Catherine (Ernest) Parent and Rose Mary (Joseph) Schubert.
Theresa was a proud St. Louisan, graduating from Incarnate Word Academy in 1957 and Webster University in 1961 where she studied Education. She was active in the drama program while at Webster, participating in numerous productions at the school.
While studying at Webster University, Theresa met the love of her life, Jim Reardon, on a blind date. They were married on June 3, 1961, beginning a cherished partnership that flourished in love and faith. They established their home in Florissant, Missouri, where they raised seven children together. In 1996, Jim and Theresa relocated to Wildwood, Missouri, where their love and devotion continued to shine.
Theresa was active in the church choir for many years both at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Florissant as well as St. Alban Roe Catholic Church in Wildwood later in life. She maintained many friendships in the choir and various other church groups throughout the years.
Theresa and Jim were avid travelers, taking treks all over the world including to Poland, Jerusalem, Ireland, France, Greece, Egypt, the Netherlands, and Italy. Spending time with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was very important to them and they often traveled around the country visiting their family. Theresa always looked forward to family celebrations. Whether celebrating their successes or offering comfort through life’s challenges, she was compassionate, intelligent, and an unwavering supporter of her children.
Theresa was a devoted fan of her beloved St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and rarely missed a game, whether watching from home or listening on the radio as a child. She loved to talk about how she attended a notable game long ago when Stan Musial hit five home runs in a double header.
Beloved wife of the late James Patrick Reardon, dearest mother of James III (fiancée Shawnna Hoffman), Michael (Kim Bouldin-Jones), Patricia, Daniel (Julianna), Kathryn (Tim) Bohr, Steve (Tricia Kinman), and Sean. Dear grandmother of Ashley, Nicole, Nastassia, Alexia, Remington, MacArthur, Michael, Jr., Josephine, Austin, Brandon, Devon, Erin, Matthew, Nicholas, Emily, Katelyn, Daniel, Jr., Elizabeth, Henry, Alex, Mary Kate, Christopher, Brendyn and Ella; great-grandmother of Sophia, Jacoby, Caydence, Olivia, Brooklyn and Dominic. Theresa was known as “Mom” to her children, and “Nana” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Theresa was also the beloved sister-in-law of Angela (the late Harry) Hansen, Maureen (Bernie) Schroder, Clancy (Joe) Kosnjek and the late Rosemary (John) Sohler.

I am so sorry to hear about the sudden passing of our dear Aunt Theresa Ann, just 4 months after the passing of our dear Uncle Jim Reardon. Like my sisters, I remember fun times at the family holiday get togethers where we would play with all our cousins and many times end up singing songs at the piano. Aunt Theresa Ann played the piano and also our late Aunt Rosemary. Aunt Theresa Ann was a very loving aunt and I only have fond memories of her. She and Uncle Jim will be missed very much.

I’m so very sorry, my dear cousins, that you had to say goodbye to your mom so soon after your dad. Please be assured that you are not orphans, but precious children of the Most High and loving Father of creation.
I am praying that you feel Jesus’ presence, peace, and comfort.
Your Cousin,

In loving memory of a wonderful, loving, caring Aunt. I have such happy memories of our holiday family get-togethers, while we were growing up. Always so much fun, so many cousins to interact with. And Aunt Theresa Ann, always upbeat and a joy to spend time with. A life well lived. My love and condolences to her children, my cousins. Aunt Theresa Ann, you were loved, you will be missed. I wish you a peaceful and happy hereafter.
