Liebert, Nedra A.
SARATOGA SPRINGS - Nedra A. (Laird) Liebert of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, with the company of family in her final hours. She was 73 years old.
Born in Schenectady, N.Y., she was the eldest daughter of the late Winston F. Laird and Rae F. (Ehrke) Laird, she lived in Schuylerville, N.Y., in her earlier childhood years and then Charlton, N.Y., when the family moved there. She was a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School and Rochester Institute of Technology, where she earned her Associate's Degree in Art and Design.
Nedra mainly worked in the insurance field, principally for Farm Family and Brown & Brown. She also worked as a teacher's aide in the Saratoga Springs City School District in the 1980s. Before moving on to enjoy retirement, her last position was senior customer service supervisor with the Farm Family Insurance field office in Clifton Park, which was then run by Eric J. DeSimone.
Nedra also had many artistic talents, in keeping with her degree. In the 1990s, she went to modeling school for a time. She also baked many wedding and birthday cakes during her years that were almost as fun to look at as they were to eat. A proficient cook as well, one would never leave the Liebert meal table hungry or disappointed.
Nedra loved being outdoors, enjoying the sounds of nature whether on a hiking or fishing excursion, out on a family boating trip, or outside enjoying a fire in back of the family home in the company of loved ones, granddoggy, Roux, included.
Along with her parents and beloved husband of 51 years, Nedra was predeceased by her brother, Keith W. Laird. She is survived by her son, Glenn B. Liebert of Glens Falls, N.Y.; brothers, Neil and Christine Laird of Phelps, N.Y., Brian and Rachel Laird of Cayuga Lake, N.Y., and Donald and Karen Laird of Eugene, Ore.; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Private funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9, Clifton Park, N.Y. 12065.
A graveside service is anticipated this coming October. All who wish to attend are encouraged to monitor the funeral home website for details and developments.
The family wishes to offer its sincerest gratitude to The Wesley Community for the care and compassion they provided to Nedra in her final months, offering a beacon of hope in difficult times.
