Pauline McKosky Obituary

McKosky, Pauline Anna
TROY - October 5, 1932 – July 31, 2025
Pauline McKosky, 92, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Hampton, N.Y., to the late Anna Ciejko Fabian and Michael Fabian. Pauline led a life centered around faith, family, and enjoying what life offered. On September 2, 1956, she married the love of her life, Ralph McKosky, with whom she shared many cherished years before his passing.
Pauline was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church and St. Joseph Church of Troy. She is survived by her devoted children, Ralph (Nurbaini), Richard, Kathleen, and Robert (Elizabeth); her beloved grandchildren, Sara Fitzpatrick (Christopher Knapp), Thomas Fitzpatrick (Lauren Webb), Jordan McKosky, Meghan McKosky; and her great-granddaughter, Mary Anna Knapp.
Pauline was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Ralph; and siblings, Raymond (Rose Ann) Fabian, Michael Fabian, and Josephine Pedrampour.
She is also survived by her loving siblings, John Fabian (Dorothy dec.) Chester (Mary Lib) Fabian, Barbara Sheeler (Kent dec.) and Francis (Mary) Fabian.
Pauline began her working years at an insurance company in Glens Falls and later, at the New York Telephone Company, which she left to raise her children. Later in life, she spent several memorable years working in the kitchen at Troy School 12, where she was known for her warmth and dedication. After retiring, she found great joy in caring for her grandchildren.
A woman of many interests, Pauline was an avid reader and loved the thrill of visiting casinos and horse racing, where somehow she always managed to come home a winner. She especially enjoyed trips to the Saratoga flat track with Ralph - memories she cherished long after his passing.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Van Rensselaer Manor, especially the staff of the B2 Unit, the activities team, the salon, and the compassionate hospice staff, who provided comfort and care in her final days.
The funeral service for Pauline will be held on Monday, at 11:30 a.m., from The Wm. Leahy funeral home, 336 Third St., Troy, and at noon, at St. Anthony of Padua State St., Troy, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home, Monday, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Troy.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Pauline's memory to the Community Hospice-Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, N.Y. 12144.

In the time that I had the pleasure of knowing Pauline, she was a joy. Pauline lived for her children, going to the casino, or enjoying the fresh air with them close by. VRM will miss seeing the McKosky family for sure and the happiness you all brought to your mothers face.
