Carlisle L. Brownmiller

Carlisle L. Brownmiller, 87, of Lehighton passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

He was the husband of Marian (Zeigenfus) Brownmiller and they would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on June 1.

Born in Northampton on Dec. 26, 1937, he was the son of the late Luther and Delthene (Bair) Brownmiller. He was a 1956 graduate of Northampton Area High School.

Carlisle worked for Route 115 Used Furniture in Broadheadsville until his retirement. Previously he worked as District Manager for Combined Insurance Company and was the owner and operator of Tri Star Homes.

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lehighton and a member of the Tamaqua and Northampton Pigeon Clubs.

Carlisle was an avid local sports fan, and his love for wrestling led him to help start the Palmerton Booster Wrestling Program.

He was also a Phillies and Eagles fan and enjoyed going to the Lehighton Senior Center, especially playing cards and bowling.

He is survived by his wife; children, Ricky, Steven, Michael husband of Cathy, Ryan husband of Gina, and Kristi; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and siblings, Laird, Shirley and Brenda.

He was predeceased by a brother, Brian.

Service: A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 20, at 11 a.m. at Schaeffer Funeral Home, 300 Alum St., Lehighton, with Pastor John Hassler officiating, Committal Service to follow at Lehighton Cemetery.

A viewing will be held on Monday, May 19 from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday, May 20, from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
