Betty Teall Obituary

Betty Ruth Teall

Betty Ruth Teall, née Betty McPherson in 1933, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Jackson; granddaughter, Miranda Teall; husband, Victor Gene Teall; and her brother, Robert McPherson.

Betty retired in 1993 from St. Vincent Hospital as Head Nurse of Obstetrics. A life-long learner, the 1951 graduate of Bedford High earned her BS degree in 1986, years after graduating from nursing school. She also taught natural childbirth classes at St. V's. Throughout her career, spanning decades of change in hospital administration and obstetrics, she was a staunch advocate for patient care and for her nurses, whom she loved like family.

Prior to illness this spring, Betty led an active, independent life. She and husband, Victor, were avid travelers and, following their retirements, wintered in Florida. An avid reader, she regularly attended meetings of the Lambertville Educational Club. She was an active member of the Eva Rebekah Lodge 299 in Lambertville and enjoyed the twice-monthly lunches with her Florida group, a collection of snowbirds summering locally. Throughout life Betty loved cats and was with her beloved Mrs. Jenkins until the end.

She is survived by her sons, David (Shelley) and Douglass; and her daughter, Diane (Ted Curtis); seven grandchildren, Trevor, Amie, Aaron, Brent, Brittany, Selena and Emmy; twelve great-grandchildren, Marissa, Raymond IV, Joslynn, Ava, Blake, Lila, Sterling, Carson, Milo, Ezekiel, Zion, Willa, Isabella, and Cameron; and one great-great-granddaughter, Noel. A graveside service will be held on July 30, at 11 a.m., at Toledo Memorial Park, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Eva Rebekah Lodge, 8128 Summerfield Road, Lambertville, MI. The family requests that any tributes be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio www.hospicenwo.org.
