Charlotte Austin Obituary

CHARLOTTE "SUE" GOSE AUSTIN

10/29/1941 - 05/18/2025

Sue was raised in Perrysburg, Ohio, by her adoptive parents, Wanda and Alvin Karr. While raising her own children, she enjoyed baking, cooking, crocheting, and playing cards and Yahtzee. She was employed by Bingham Manufacturing for several years. Her latest pastime was visiting casinos with her youngest son, Pat. She also enjoyed music, especially songs by Neil Diamond.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Charles "Oz" Gose, Jr., in 1981; her second husband, Charles Austin, in 2019; daughter-in-law, Renee Gose; granddaughter, Laura Gose; grandson, Ben Morrissey; mother and father-in-law, Catherine and Charles Gose, Sr.; and siblings, Robert Karr, Donald Bauer, Ronald Bauer, David Liebherr, Jane Pickett, and Milton Weyer, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Charles "Mick" Gose (Linda Driscoll), Cathy (Mike) Norell, Kelley (Bob) Rowland, and Pat Gose (Julie Taormina); her grandchildren, Valerie Norell (Aaron Levitt), Tyler (Tiffany) Rowland, Kaddie Morrissey, Grant Gose; and her great-grandchildren, Weslee and Benna Morrissey and Asher, Adam and Ari Levitt. Also survived by her brother, Raymond Weyer of New York; several sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews; and lastly her faithful canine companion, Bella.

The family would like to thank the many physicians who treated Mom since her return to Ohio in the summer of 2018. They include Nurse Practitioner, Stephanie Shanks, and Drs. Eugene Lin, Mohammad Al-Nsour, Suketu Patel, and Dean Bernardo. They were the best!

Finally, our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their compassionate and exceptional care for Mom beginning February 10 until her passing, and for their support for family and guidance provided. We would have been unable to care for Mom at home without their help! Her care team included nurses, Valerie and Jenny; social worker, Kathy; aide, Lisa; and the respite team at the South Detroit Avenue location. Mom's quality of life improved significantly for the first couple of months under the care of Hospice, and we are so very grateful for the time we had with Mom to talk, laugh, and even cry.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28, at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, located at 830 Lime City Road, in Rossford, Ohio. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., with the service at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers and in memory of our Mom, please consider donations to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Road, Perrysburg, Ohio.

Mick, Pat, Cathy, Kelley,
My sincere condolences on the passing of your Mom. Your Mom and Dad were the nicest people, and so proud of you. Even though they raised you loving the team up north, I have always thought highly of your family. My thoughts and prayers will be with you during this difficult time. A big hug for all of you. God Bless! Bill Ritter
