Kathleen Hill Obituary

Kathy Hill, 53, a resident of Cumming, Georgia, died May 17, 2025 with her family by her side. Kathy was born in Fort Belvoir, Virginia on November 13, 1971. Kathy is lovingly remembered by her husband of 26 years, David, and their daughter, Maggie.

Kathy is survived by her mother, Sherry Wileman; stepfather, Dan Hunsberger; siblings, Bill (Gina), Ann (Scott), Amy (Wade); nieces and nephews, Ella, William, Hamilton, Wells, Landry, Ayden; and the many Hunsberger and Nestleroth family members who knew and loved her.

Kathy is preceded in death by her grandparents, Doris and Paul Nestleroth; father, William Ray Wileman; and brother, Trett.

Upon graduation from Crestwood High School in Dunwoody, GA, Kathy earned a bachelor's degree in early childhood education at the University of Georgia and a master's degree at Georgia State University. She taught in the Georgia public elementary school system for a decade, always seeking out the students who needed her the most and investing in those who might otherwise be left behind. When Kathy shifted to work at Orange, she managed and wrote much of the preschool curriculum, impacting children in over 6,000 churches in 12 countries. Through the curriculum, First Look, Kathy taught children that God Made Me, God Loves Me, and Jesus Wants to be My Friend Forever. After 14 years, Kathy handed First Look to her friends at Orange and began working with the operations team at Buckhead Church. Kathy was also an original member of Travelmation, celebrating 10 years with the agency, and sharing her love of Disney, especially Disney cruising, with others.

Kathy's favorite role was Mom to Maggie. It led her to be a Drama Mama where she became known as Mama Hill to teens throughout the Atlanta area. Kathy is remembered for her empathy and care, the way she encouraged us to love others, and her sacrificial giving.

Memorial service will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at North Point Community Church, 4350 North Point Pkwy, Alpharetta, GA 30022, starting at 11AM in the East Auditorium. Visitation will follow in the atrium. Please park in front of the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you donate to Kathy's favorite non profit, The Place of Forsyth County, or the American Cancer Society.

David and Maggie, I´m so sorry for your great loss. When I had the opportunity to spend time with Kathy, I always enjoyed her smile and infectious laughter. I´ll be praying for you in the days to come.

Sympathy for your loss; congratulations for being a part of the life of a beautifully giving and faithful servant of our Lord. To help young people know their Lord and the love and inclusion they can find in Him is the most wonderful life a person can live. Although never knowing Cathy personally, hearing about her through the Hunsberger's of her family for many years, we feel we have known and respected her. Larry and Nancy Mitchell, Savannah, Ga
